BECKSTOFFER'S DR. CRANE VINEYARD was originally planted by Napa pioneer Dr. George Belden Crane in 1858. During the 1920's the Chinatown of the City of St. Helena was located on the site. This historic vineyard property is located west of Route 29 in the City of St. Helena within the St. Helena AVA. The gravelly loam soils have been replanted (1998) to multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Luxury premium vineyard designated wines will begin to appear from PAUL HOBBS, KARL LAWRENCE, and others. Wines produced include those from Quintessa, Broman, PlumpJack, Chateau Boswell, Realm and others.
